About Mari Michaelis
The photo of a girl holding a ball was chosen for the Marigami website because Mari means ball in Japanese. I had planned on folding a large modular origami ball for the site, but between making videos and fleshing out material for this website, well, you know. There is the Butterfly Ball on the website though - and I've resisted renaming it the Mariposa Mari...
I'm a programmer / web designer / database designer / graphic artist who (obviously) loves origami and I've created this website as an outlet for my passion. I've learned a lot about origami from the Internet world, and I hope that this website is able to help those who are just getting started or others who, like me, are always looking for a new folding challenge.
I'd love to hear from you if you've found any of my videos, diagrams or links useful. You can email me at Mari@marigami.com. Please use a subject that will help me distinguish your email from spam.
Marigami.com is hosted at my SpiteNET website and I hope you'll explore all the
things it has to offer:
Card Games - SpiteNET: Spite and Malice, Spiteful Bank (Russian Bank), and Cassino by SpiteNET are my software card games you can purchase online. You can play against a very clever computer opponent or online against humans. If you ever run out of paper to fold, I hope you'll download the games and try them out.
Wallpaper Hanger & Screen Saver - is a program I wrote that will change your computer's (PC only) desktop wallpaper on a schedule you set up (daily, weekly, hourly). It's very easy to use: just add all your wallpaper backgrounds and it will randomly select a different one for you.
Web Design - If you're in need of a custom designed website, you can
look at some samples of my work.
Bass Guitar - What my fingers like to play with when I'm not folding. There are tons of humorous bass guitar themed desktop wallpapers and a few mobile phone wallpapers, yours for the downloading. For those learning to play the bass guitar, you can download my free music software for learning the bass' fretboard and note reading.
Music Crochet Charts - Also in the bass guitar area of the SpiteNET website, I've posted few filet crochet charts of musical notes, a keyboard, bass and treble clefs.

The little statue was a gift from my dear friend Kinko, who I haven't see in over 20 years. I'm grateful that we met in a time of Internet and email, keeping our friendship from fading. It is my dream to one day visit Japan.
