IRIS’ HIGHLIGHTS OF THE SPITE AND MALICE US OPEN

v     TD was Robyn

v     Mari was the Consultant of the Tourney

v     Players were Iris, Bibi, Jane, Brenda, Carol (Gramding),Val, Alice, Marge (Blueyes), Steve, Shar, Janny (MrsSpijt), Vicki (MissVicki), Josie and Sally (Iowa Girl).

v     First seeded was Janny who didn’t get to semifinals, we don’t know if for lack of training or too much workout during the Union….. lol

v     First round was unexpected: Vicki (unseeded) beat Jane by 11 cards (and Jane was supposed to give MissVicki some pointers during the Union on how to play this game better…. lol), Shar beat Iris by 14 cards (this was not unexpected due to Iris having ADD and having never played with real cards before…. lol)

v     Alice and Val won the longest game award, taking almost all afternoon to play their one game match…. lol

v     The site of the tourney was in the bar so you can guess what most people where doing while they played (yes, having a drink).

v     The smokers played out around the pool and we were lucky nobody fell in the pool because the water was cold, really cold, and yes, they were also drinking.

v     Bibi and Shar were missing in action for a while. We didn’t know if they thought it was a match for Bo’s (3 out of 5) or not, but we finally found them in Shar’s room where they were just chatting, drinking and smoking…  lol

v     Finally we had the Final Round between Shar and the surprise of the day, yes it was MissVicki.  Everyone stood around watching and it was a close, close and exciting game. Towards the end it looked like the game was MissVicki’s but with amazing skill and spite, Shar suddenly came from behind. In a nail-biting finish, Shar, with her Canadian charm (did I say charm?), finally managed to win.

v     First Place……Shar

v     Second Place….Vicki

v     Third Place….Alice

v     Fourth Place….Bibi

IT WAS A VERY EXCITING AND FUN TOURNEY FOR EVERYONE!
