Old Television Shows
Yes, I'm still feeling the shock from turning

The
Dobie Gillis Group

us what we'd have to look forward to when we reached our teens. Warren Beatty
played rich guy Milton Armitage who Dobie believed got all the girls because he
had money. While Zelda believed she and Dobie were destined to be together,
Dobie lusted after the unattainable Thalia (Tuesday Weld). The show began and
ended with Dobie contemplating life under a statue of Rodin's "the
Thinker."

The
Chuck McCann Group
Chuck McCann and his head puppeteer Paul Ashley would
perform character comedy skits, silent visual gags and interviews with guest
performers in-between showing Krazy Kat, Beatle Bailey, Barney Google &
Snuffy Smith cartoons. He did a lot of hip musical parody skits ("Leader of
the Pack" became Leader of the Laundry Mat). Chuck was told to stop
doing his "Little Orphan Annie" and "Miss Jinx, The Witch"
characters on the pretense that these comic characters were encouraging Chuck's
viewers to become homosexual.
